(Un)Folding the Image

Visual research in which the potential of a singular image is explored. One still from the film ‘Koyaanisqatsi’ is put under the microscope for close examination and documentation in order to create an experimental publication that can be designed and re-designed by the viewer through folding. My aim for the publication was to showcase the never-ending potential and possibilities that can be found within one image if you pay enough attention to it. The publication was printed on transparent plastic and its 56 pieces were hand-sewn together to create one foldable, interactive artwork.

The work was on view as part of the ‘Not Just a Library’ exhibition at Platform P_OST in Arnhem, the Netherlands, from November 2022 until April 2023.
